Our Commitment to Workplace Safety

Safety Policy, Plan & Requirements

We are committed to ensuring safety, compliance, and a healthy work environment.

Safety Plan
  1. Safety Shoes :

    A mandatory safety requirement for workmen entering the site.

  2. Safety Helmet :

    Mandatory for every individual workman working on-site. Executives, engineers, and office staff must also wear helmets.

  3. Safety Belt :

    Required for work at a height of 10 feet and above.

  4. Welding Shield :

    When ARC Welders are working in the site, the safety shield is must.

  5. Hand Gloves :
    • a) Gas Welders
    • b) ARC Welders (high voltage protection)
    • c) Workmen handling heavy tools (e.g., threading machine, pipe cutting machine)
  6. Protection Under Work Area :

    Demarcation tape and signage must be placed to avoid accidents and increase awareness.

  7. Temporary/Loose Wiring Connection :

    Improper connections are prohibited. All wiring must be grounded, double insulated, and use proper plug and socket connections.

EHS Declaration for Plumbing Work :

We hereby declare to accept the responsibility to carry out the work safely.

We would understand the hazards associated with site activity and develop the relevant safety procedures, train the manpower and provide the required PPE, and equipment.

We or the workers working under my / our control will adhere to the site safety rules and EHS guidelines as stated in this document.

Additional Safety Measures
  1. Fire Safety Precautions :

    Right type of portable Fire Extinguishers will be placed the work spot prior to commencement of the following types of jobs :

    • Welding
    • Gas cutting
    • Grinding
    • Electrical motor testing
    • Diesel engine test runs
  2. Scaffolding :

    Modular scaffolding must use telescopic M.S. pipes and removable platforms with casters.

  3. Worker’s Health Policy :
    • Every 6 Months periodically medical checking of all Laborers & Employees.
    • Insurance Policy is beneficial for all labourers.
  4. Insurance / Compensation Cover :
    • Employees State Insurance Scheme, Provident Fund Scheme Etc.
    • Medical reimbursement is beneficial to all Employees.

Safety Monitoring :

All safety measures will be supervised and implemented under the responsibility of the Project Manager.

HIGHLIGHTS :

In our 57 Years of service we are proudly said to have 0% Major Accidents.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • All electrical wires/cables must be laid and fixed well above the ground.
  • All electrical point connections must have proper plug points. (No inserting plain wire into electrical boards).
  • All electrical connections should be taken through a main electrical board and connected through proper circuit breakers, ELCB, and proper earthing to be done to all electrical equipment.
  • Workers should not take risks whilst working, such as hanging outside the building or on scaffoldings.
  • All shaft, external works and work at heights to be carried out using safety belts which are properly anchored and safety helmets, safety shoes and safety hand gloves.
  • Always use the grinder machine wearing cloth hand gloves and safety glasses.
  • Always use epoxy, chemical compounds and cement wearing rubber hand gloves.
  • No pipes, pulleys, fittings, etc. to be kept temporarily hanging on site. All suspended piping or fittings should be securely fastened and not kept hanging or insecure.
  • All incomplete works should be properly anchored or fixed or bolted so as to prevent any slippage/fall/collapse.
  • Molten lead must not be poured into wet joints. Always use cloth hand gloves while pouring lead.
  • All pump and delivery line nuts and bolts must be checked before starting the pump.
  • All the welding works must be done using welding helmets, safety gloves and safety equipments.
  • All pumps, welding machines, panels etc. must be properly earthed before starting.
  • All pumps and panels must be properly maggerred before starting.
  • All workers must be careful while using hacksaws, chisels, hammers, pick axe and other sharp tools.

The following are the safety practices that will be followed in addition to any other requirements as recommended by Project Manager's EHS Manager/Site safety officer to work safely at site.

  • Wear a safety helmet, safety shoes, eye protection with side shields.
  • Wear a safety harness and hooking to the life line rope.
  • Wear appropriate hand gloves like cotton, leather, PVC, rubber or surgical hand gloves.
  • Proper tools will be used and checked for defects and replaced whenever required.
  • Welding torch with ring guard, welding shield, leather hand gloves required.
  • No steel rod will be used as earthing on to the welding machine.
  • A proper working platform with hand rail will be used while working at heights.
  • Housekeeping will be done on a daily basis and the debris, sand, concrete, materials and mortar will be removed and stored at identified places.
  • We will be appointing one safety supervisor to visit this site at least once a week and monitor the safety standards.
  • Our workmen and we will not create any problem, quarreling with other agencies.
  • We will be providing fire extinguishers, fire buckets with water and sand in the work place, if welding machines are used.
  • First aid facilities and hospital facilities will be provided to our workmen.
  • We will be conducting the safety training programs for our workmen, like first aid, firefighting and safety.
  • We will obtain work permits to work for hazardous areas.
  • We will submit all the required insurance policies as per contract documents.

FOREMAN : PLUMBING

  • To report to the site supervisors.
  • Marking lines out and starting the works after approval, allocation of work to workers as per their skill and as per scope availability.
  • Arranging hand tools and miscellaneous materials required on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring proper housekeeping work.
  • Complete labour control.
  • To maintain quality standards.
  • Labour contractor evaluation.

SAFETY SUPERVISOR : PLUMBING

  • To train / guide the workers regarding use of safety gears and equipment.
  • To check and ensure all safety related work as per EHS declaration.
  • To obtain work permits as required.
  • To attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping at all times.

STORE KEEPER

  • To report to the Project Manager.
  • To receive all materials as per Clients procedure and ISO quality clearance norms.
  • To keep the stock register and update the same.
  • To maintain a record of materials consumed daily.
  • To monitor the store at all times.
  • To stock materials properly within the store.
  • To prepare reconciliation statements.
  • To check and maintain all hand tools and machinery.

AUTOCAD AND BILLING

All computer related paper work in co-ordination with project manager as regards preparing shop drawings / working drawings, preparing monthly R.A. Bills, preparation of Site / Progress reports etc.
